Bonnie's Story
After leaving DHS in 1954, I married fellow classmate Marvin Ross in 1955. We went to England while he was in the USAF for 4 years. We returned to live in The Dalles. Marv worked for Mayflower Dairy as a house-to-house driver and I worked at Webber's Cleaners for my parents. In 1980, we semi-retired and started being snowbirds to southern CA and AZ. We spent 15 years as full time snowbirds to Yuma, AZ. We divided our time between there and a friend's private RV park in Dufur. We did this until Marv suddenly died Jan 2, 2000. I continued to migrate to Yuma to a home we had there. My Mom went with me several winters before I sold the place in 2007.
I bought a home in TD next door to Richard and Pauline Robertson in 2002--where I still live. Our 4 children live in Portland area, so we can visit easily. I have no plans to leave here...Expand for more
. I have friends I have known since I moved here in 1946--going to Court Street Sch, Whittier and The Dalles High.
I participate in Bible Study at First Christian Church. I am in The Pink Project--a cancer survivors group who helps other cancer patients. I read, watch TV too much and do some rubberstamping as a hobby.
I recently traveled to Kauai with my twiin daughters and dau-in-law. This was my 4th trip to the Islands and I like it there, but so nice to get home, too.
My bucket list includes a cruise to Alaska, trips to Australia and NZ, return to England and spend time on the Continent. The Holy Land was on my list, but will wait a bit before planning that one. May have to wait till I go to my eternal home before seeing Jerusalem..
If you come through town, call me and I can arrange a meeting of some classmates if you wish.
