Bonnie's Story
Life
I left Charleroi, PA, in '58 and never went back to live there. I graduated from college in '63. New Jersey was my home for 11 years. I married a patent attorney with Bell Labs and taught chemistry, which was my major. We moved to Phoenix, AZ, in '74. Completing a masters in '79, I was ABD in Science Education at ASU. I continued to teach chemistry at Glendale Community College and Westview High School until '03 when I retired. In '80 I divorced. Since '89 I have lived with a very talented mechanic who treats me like a queen. I was consulting for AZ State University, Del E. Webb School of Construction. My companion retired in '04 and is working on restoring '34 Ford cars and trucks; he has projects stacked up. I don't think we ever will really "retire". /touring motorcycles. The plan was to ride the world starting the '06 summer by riding Australia and New Zealand; we have already seen a large part of the USA on our bikes. It wasn't as wild as it sounds, surely better than any of the other options for a vacation. We didn't figure how to take the three cats with us.
UPDATE 2009:
The world ride never happened. My companion had a very bad accident in '96. Fortunately the bike was totaled...he wasn't. We didn't ride again. He is stlll working on his '37 Ford panel truck restoration and I am still reading. Same three cats plus many more outside. I am into neuter/spay and releasing as many as I can. We feed and water and try to love them all.
For exercise we walk-everywhere, about 5 miles each day. For "old" folks we are in pretty good shape.
