Bonnie's Story

I work for the Dept of Navy as Secretary to our Officer in Charge and should retire in two years. My sister and I love to drive and walk in our mountains, photograph flowers and wildlife, and roam around. I'm a rockhound so I enjoy the UT mining history and visit old mines and tailings for specimens. I miss the ocean in CA and Monterey is my favorite place. I write poetry that has been published in small media and posted on popular websites. Loves of my life are my Son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and classical and pop singer Josh Groban. My Son was in the Army National Guard and spent 18-mos in Iraq and survived. He has now enlisted in the regular Army and is stationed in KY. My respite, inspiration, and full-time hobby is supporting Josh Groban who broke all records in 2007 with his Christmas album 'NOEL'. Yes, I joined my first fan club 5-yrs ago to become a devoted and dedicated Grobanite to spread his music and beautiful baritone voice. Josh is a humanitarian, shy, humble, polite, generous, gracious, and intelligent Man. He's a beautiful/handsome individual up close with a perfect complexion, delicate features, big brown eyes, perfect lips, and tousled curls frame a kind face. He's 6' tall and VERY thin. He has a wonderful quick wit and sense of humor; very talented as a songwriter, producer, plays many instruments including piano by ear and drums. He does impersonations and mimics. We support him with charitable events, auctions, and projects for the many charities under his Foundation and Grobanites for Charity. Since inception of his foundation in 2003, we've earned over $828,000.00 with a goal to earn a million this year. Josh has personally donated $1 million of his own money. When he postponed a 2007 concert in NC due to illness, he rescheduled and donated $150,000.00 ...Expand for more
to their school programs. I collect the cardboard Josh CD album stands for the fan club auctions which collectively earned over $300.00 so far. I was the Grobanite representative for UT for the Marine's Toys for Tots drive at Christmas and Grobanites around the country collected 3,458 toys. We attend his tour concerts, special performances, and Meet and Greets. My sister and I drove to Wichita in 2004 for our second concert where we met him for the first time, flew to Phoenix in Mar 2007 and shook his hand as he walked through the audience singing one of his songs, and attended two SLC concerts. His 'AWAKE' tour concert in SLC last Aug was personally selected by Josh for recording his tour DVD to release in spring 2008. We were surrounded by cameras, booms, lights, and equipment. I masterminded a "JOSH GROBAN DAY" proclamation signed by the Mayor of SLC and Josh's managers arranged Backstage Passes for me and my daughter-in-law to present the proclamation to him. We were photographed and interviewed for the DVD, and expect to be "movie stars". I'm a wonderful Mother-in-law. After the concert, Josh signed autographs, joked, talked, and fulfilled every request for over 100 fans who waited for him. This was my 2nd and 3rd time meeting him and he remembered me from Wichita. I met his parents and vocal coach who are very nice people. Josh NEVER forgets we're his Grobanites and continually thanks us for our support and sends love through audio/video messages and posts on the fan club website and album liner notes. He loves to hug and receive hugs, and I've been fortunate with two. His manager has even been asked by other artists how they can obtain dedicated fans as us. Oh, the stories I could tell! If you think I've gone off the deep end, you may be right, but I'm having FUN doing it.
