Bonnie's Story
I was in the short group from class of '65. There were several of us, the McKeown twins, the Ramey twins, JoAnn Correll, Laura McKee, Leslie Garner and me. I'm sure there were more, but we couldn't see them in a crowd. Even though we were short, we all could be heard....you have to compensate.
I dated Bill Meiman from Holy Cross for seven years, (we started dating at 16) and we got married in '70 and are still together (happily).
I started working as soon as I was out of high school. I didn't want to go to college, mainly because I loved doing any kind of office work. I thought one day I like to work with children, however, the only time I did that was when I was the head of a teacher aide program at St. Paul elementary. I did have 72 volunteers that worked for me and I ordered all supplies for the school and kept all the equiptment running (audio visual and office) I trained the kids on simple formats, ie; running a book store and different equiptment. I graduated and nannied 3 teachers babies for 3 years. Then went to work at Sam's club in Florence. I have been there for 20 years and am the human resourse contact. So I am back to ordering all the supplies to run the offices, interviews, hiring, ...Expand for more
benefits, teaching and training and general baby sitting for all the associates.
Bill and I have two beautiful daughters,Kamela 37 and Kasi 34. They have given us 3 unbelieveable grandchildren. Kamela's (unmarried) has one son, Zach - 16. Kasi is married to Eric (the worlds greates son-in-law) and they have given us Cole - 6 and our only grand daughter, Peyton - who is 18 months.
We lived for 23 years in Florence and now reside in Harvest Hill subdivison in Independence.
Retire???? When we get old. We both love to work and feel between kids and grandkids we will stay young for a while. Our 16 year old grandson has band practice (head banger stuff) in our basement every weekend.
We love to have parties on every holiday, and I mean every...mothers day...fathers day....easter....memorial day....every holiday. Bill built a cabana in our back yard and named it "Somewhere", you know 5 o'clock....and his basement is definately like no other anywhere...party central.
Look us up, we are always ready to have friends over and we have a LIVE band every weekend...they even try to play some old stuff once in a while, just to amuse...
Love to read and just sit in the sun. I do some crafts, till I get bored.
