Bonnie's Story
I was always the smallest , petite one in the class sometimes I liked it but other times it just got in the way as if I couldn't do some of the things, (sit at the back of the class and look over everyones else's head,
be the star basketball player espically the center ) and at times I used it to my advantage like getting into the shows for 1/2 price ( highland and the capital )
some times it was hard for me because some of my classmates just didnt realize the effect they had on me espically when they thought I could not do the things they did or as good. Which in thelong run helped me to build a stronger foundation for my future years. Never tell anyone that they can not do something for they will prove you wrong
I have 4 grown sons and 4 grand children from first marriage ,first husband passed away then
I married a Full blood Native American ( Oglala Lakota...Expand for more
Sioux)
we have several grand children and great grand children my husband has since passed onto the spirit world
then I married again 2 more times for a total of 4 husbands ( all full bloods ) since then all of my husbands have also gone onto the spirit world.
I now live at Wounded Knee and Porcupine on the Pine Ridge Indian Res. in South Dakota
I walk the Red road of life and yes I do speak the native language.
I am a Sun Dancer and a Pipe Carrier no not a pow wow dancer but I do enjoy the pow wows,
I used to dance at them ( pow wows )but am getting to old .
My sons are all doing well I am so blessed with them and with my grand children and great grand children
after high scholl I went on to get my B.S. N.
right now I am retired and loving every minute of it
my days are full of adventure and wonder
