Life okay , here goes with some details of these past few years. Currently I am a surgical nurse in a small surgery center in Ocala, FL. Mostly I work with orthopaedic surgeons ,orthopaedics is my favorite specialty. I came here from a local hospital operating room but I disliked the call and highly stressful atmosphere. Prior to that I spent 22 years with the same two orthopaedic surgeons as their private scrub , cast tech and RN first assist. Half way through those 22 years I pulled four school terms to teach at a public middle school- medical careers and public service work. I had free hand in building the curriculum and taught anatomy, medical terminology and had guest speakers from every corner of the medical field. It was exciting and challenging but every year my old boss ,Burton Marsh , would call and make me a better offer until there was one I could not resist returning to first assist work. During those 4 years of teaching I also worked evenings in the OR to earn enough money to be ready for my son, Stephen , to go to college.He had started high school the year I started teaching.
