Bonny's Story

Thought I would update this to 2013! It has been 4+ years, so it is time to update. btw/ it is Scheier, and I have yet to update the miss-spell of Sheier, blond thing. I have remained here in Sacramento since high school with some travel / work here and there. I bounced from ARC to Davis; to Chico State and finally received my BA degree in Communications from Sac State 1975. Most of my under graduate was in computer science but ended up with a Comm degree with an emphasis in survey/statistical research. While in college I worked as a lift operator for Boreal Ridges, computer geek for Nor Cal beverage and Department Of Social Services. Right before graduation, Department of Justice hired me as a computer operator, progressed onto programmer/systems analyst/Project Manager on the Criminal History System(11+), worked part time for SAIC in electronic warfare games/documentation (2+ ), then worked for NEC/ Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems as the West coast principle engineer (6+ years). I have owned my sole proprietorship business since 1991 consulting, designing and managing fingerprints/biometric systems for several of the western states, Sheriffs and PDs. Have chaired and actively participate on several national and international committees for fingerprint/mobile ID ANSI/NIST ITL standards. Best part yet is I am still doing and loving my job!!!! However, my biggest love in the world is my family. I have 2 wonderful /beautiful daughters, Allison, 34 and Kristianne (28), a great stepson Jason (38)/Amelia (37), and 3 grandchildren, Cory (16)(in our picture), Mykalah (14) and Mason (11). I am in the process of a congenial divorce from my 2nd husband of 17(m)/25(r) years. I refuse to discuss the first marriage (1976-1987). Allison graduated from Sac State in Risk Management and has her own insurance company, so if you need any business or personal insurance and like Farmers and want a great insurance agency, let me know. Allison loves to travel, her huge framily (friends/Family), football, football, football, football and playing. Kristianne graduated from UC Davis in Bio Technology/Nutrition , has been working in a local genetics engineering laboratory, enjoys catering on the weekends and still helps me with my biometrics business (when she has time). Kristianne is my ants in the pants child and has done a lot of national/international travel, Burning Man, (she convinced me to go this last summer and so glad I did, amazing art!!!!), and general sports/adventurer. I watched her zoom up into the sky on a wind surfing kite in Maui, and we managed to get stranded at the top of Haleakala at dusk. burr, long story. Kristianne has been training for a 1/2 marithon, and the last Color Run, she saved a bunch of orange powder and christened both of us after the finiah line (regretfully I did not run in it, next year!) Jason has his own Painting company in Reno , loves hunting, camping, fishing and baseball. He was the president of the Cal Ripken League, and Allstars manager of Cory's teams that went to the regionals several times. He and Ameli...Expand for more
a are expecting a boy in December, cantt wait. My Dad passed away in 2005 and my Mom is an incredible woman of 88 and having some rough medical issues now, but keeps us all on our toes. My sisters live at the opposite ends of California (Barbara-64/LS grad 67) lives right on the Trinity River up north and Carol (58/LS grad 73 the baby) lives in La Jolla, my brother Chuck (66/LS grad 64) lives in Nevada. Have (for the most part) kept up a fairly active lifestyle of hiking, camping, softball (pitcher/catcher/outfield), soccer (right wing), surfing (body and board), skiing/snowboarding, water/trick skiing (CSUS trick skiing team), fishing, white water rafting, horseback riding, etc. Back in the 70/80s a group of us from CALDOJ put on trick water skiing shows on the Sacramento river every Wednesday afternoon/nights doing pyramids, jumping etc, maybe you saw us?, lots of fun. I skied on a glacier in the 70s and then landed in an airplane on another glacier right in front of Mt McKinley in the late 90s, I just wish I would have had my skis with me. I have managed lose the Mean-O pounds that was weighing me down, (get it?) and am finally below my pre 2nd marriage 22 BMI, shooting for my normal 19-20. Vic and I ate out way too much. Went white water rafting (with Kristianne) down the Grand Canyon/Colorado River for 10 days in 2007 and it was one of the best/gorgeous experiences I have ever ever had (guided by OARS/great company). I tried surfing out of La Jolla and could not get balanced enough to stay up, trying again this coming summer, but might end up doing the paddle boards, love the ocean. Did some ocean kayaking, and several white waters trips also. I have managed to break quite a few bones over the years challenging gravity. ps gravity always wins. I love the arts and informative/real books. My favorite local artist is still Diane Mattar and favorite book is Collapse by Jared Diamond (great reading). Diane is incredible; please look her up on the net and hopefully you will enjoy her art also. I took a few art classes and managed to create some fun sculptures and paintings over the years. Hope one of these days to try my retired hands at painting or sculpting. Lately , I find myself spending way too much time tracking earthquake statistics, politics, but thoughougly enjoy playing evil suduko. I have traveled to most of the US states for work and/or for pleasure, have hit a majority of the national parks, and have also explored Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, South Africa and Japan. Have done some cruising, but camping suites me much better. Well hope this was not too rambling, as most of you know well writing/English has never been my forte, however give me some math/statistical/scientific problems and I am happy as a clam. I so look forward to seeing and chatting with you all at the 45th? reunion. I missed the 2013 LS gathering in August, I had a wedding of one of my 100+ "adopted" kids, but hope to make the next one and see you all there! I have 13,787 characters left, and will stop here before you fall asleep. Bonny
