Life
My past is certainly checkered.....
Curently, I live on a 5 Acre spread in Colorado. I have a wife of 23 years and two teenage kids (12 and 15). I ran for sheriff last year and in places got 30% of the vote. Those of you who are interested enough to read this would probably be quite surprised at hearing that last statement. Know also that I was chairman of the county Libertarian Party for 5 years, am a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), ran for State Senate three years ago, was a founding member of NORML in Colorado and am often asked to speak out on the Drug War Insanity and teach a class on the Constitution. College
I did two years at Tulane, then a spell in the outside world. Went back to UCDavis for a degree in Zoology, then back out into the cold cruel world for a few more years. Landed at CUBoulder for four years and a Masters in Environmental Biology. Left that Alma Mater and now have gone on to receive several certifications from both the State and Professional Organizations. Ran for county commissioner this year. Got the highest percentage ever for a Libertarian in a 3 way race...10.5%. 15,000 people in Boulder County are sick of the socialism. Unfortunately, about 80,000 of 'em just love it. Boulder County doesn't pass every tax that's ever come onto the ballot for nothing. I attended several candidate forums during the election cycle, and was most amazed at the mock election held at one of the local high schools after a forum at the school. I won. (I like to think my emphasis on educating young people (I sub teach, train boy scouts and do lectures at schools and organizations) has actually had an impact. Cool!) I was the Ecological Director for the Libertarian National Convention (LNC)held in Denver this May.Spent several days trying to beat some environmental responsibility into Libertarians. What fun. I'm also a Producer for CCTV54, a local public access TV station. I covered the Democratic National convention (DNC) in Denver for the Station and did several shows and even put up some UTube videos. I've been steeped in politics for the last 10 months and still tend to get on about it, don't I?
