Brad's Story

I asked God to take away my pain.
God said no.
It is not for me to take away,

"January 2004 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. An incurable disease of the Nervous system."
I asked God to remove my disease and make me whole.
God said no.
Your spirit IS whole,
Your body is only temporary.
"Life seems so short now. Days pass so quickly and I become angry at little things."
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said no.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations,
It isn't granted,...Expand for more
it is earned.
"All I wanted was a nice home for retirement and to provide for my family so their lives are less troubled."
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said no.
I give you blessings,
Happiness is up to you.
"My January 2007 MRI showed more lesions on my brain and spine. This is why I hurt physically and emotionally."
I asked God to spare me suffering.
God said no.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares,
And brings you closer to me.
"I stare at the cross and wonder why you would die for me. I am feel so useless now."
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said no.
You must grow on your own,
But I will prune you to make you fruitful.
"How nice it would be to make a 7 figure salary every year. No worries about bills or how to provide for my family."
I asked God for all things, that I might enjoy life.
God said no.
I give you life,
So that you may enjoy all things.
"I reach out to surround myself with people who have learned to live life standing strong and staying happy no matter what comes."
I asked God to help me LOVE others,
As much as he loves me.
God said, “FINALLY! you have the idea."
