After High School, I went to The University of Akron (what a surprise!) and tried to become a mechanical engineer, then an electrical engineer, then a software engineer, then a mechanical engineer (again). Finally, I decided that I really liked physics, so that's were I made my home away from home, stuck with it, and actually graduated with Bachelors of Science degree in Physics. I started taking masters level courses, but got really tired of being poor, so I got a job in Cleveland working for an Oil Analysis Laboratory called Predict. As an analyst, I studied tiny contaminants in samples of oil, some of them were made of different types of metals and were classified as wear-related-particles. In 1995, Predict bought an engineering company in the Seattle area called DLI Engineering that specialized in vibration analysis. Predict asked me to move out to the west coast (Seattle) and build a new laboratory. Since I was being given a raise and the opportunity to leave Northern Ohio, I took it immediately! They didn't have to ask twice. I lived in Silverdale, WA for about 6 years and commuted to our office located on Bainbridge Island.
