Brandon's Story
Although things are tough in the homebuilding industry at the moment, it's not a question of IF, but WHEN it will pick back up and thrive yet again. I STILL believe that even as I have been let go yet again. 84 Lumber closed its 290 location effective immediately. One door closes and another opens. I am very excited about the opportunities available to me. Especially, one in Costa Rica! I am an ardent football fan, as anyone who truly knows me can attest and a Texans season-ticket holder. Looking forward to another MONDAY NIGHT game. Get to Reliant EARLY or LATE enough and you can find me tailgating in the Blue Lot!!! Also, I try and make it to as many Aggie football games as I can.
School
I would have to say a certain lunch period my senior year at Klein..."Go Brandon! Go Brandon!" To this very day, I wonder how my life would be different IF I had just followed their advice.
College
I remember having a Sociology exam my freshman year and the Oilers were on Monday Night Football. Went to SRO with some friends and were just going to watch the game until halftime...YEAH RIGHT. After MANY Crown & Cokes slept in and ended up...Expand for more
having to take a make-up exam the same day as the final. I am also enjoying my younger siblings college experience, Houston with his fraternity at Baylor(Animal HOUSE!!!), and Kate at A&M...it has been fun sharing the gameday experience in College Station with her.
Workplace
Had the greatest job ever during high school working at Sportstown for above minimum wage. I can't tell you how many nights were spent having slam dunk contests on the goals with the Slam n Jam rims. Also happened to date a sexy cashier who worked there, too. Like I said, GREATEST job ever. Then managed the toy department at Service Merchandise for awhile. Worked one summer processing loans at Infinity Mortgage. Spent about six months building my sister's house as the owner of Prestige Custom Homes. Then went back to school and completed my degree. Taught 9th grade at Eisenhower for awhile...let's just say I got just as much as what I dished out back in the day. Then returned to homebuilding with Hallmark Design Homes, where I got let go due to market conditions. Then landed back on my feet at 84!!! Now a free agent again and awaiting my next assignment.
