Brenda's Story
What's up fellow Redskins! Nice to see and read about all of you and how far you've come. I myself, have had a long journey, or actually looking back, feels like a long journey. Can you believe we graduated 26 years ago - whoa! Anywho, here's my story: got married at 20, had my first daughter at 24 and my second daughter at 26. They are 20 and 18 now; my youngest just graduated from high school - thank God! The baby in my picture is my grandson. Yep - I'm a freakin' grandma! His name is Jaden and he is my oldest daughters son. He is awesome - the best part is when I've had enough I send him home! No, but seriously, I love him to death - don't even remember what is was like before he entered our world. Well, as I said I got married at 20, divorced at 32. Still looking, but having fun doing it. I work in construction, actually started in the field when I was 14 and after time off raising my girls, got back into it. I build townhomes and multi-use buildings. I love every minute of it except the P.I.T.A. customers (only a select few and they know who they are). eady - you see where I'm going with this. NOT! He also did not like my working part-time back then, but I am kinda independent that way - kudos to my mom for that! Lost my dad when I was 21 and my mom about 7 years ago, so my family is my girls and my grandson and my girls significant others. My youngest daughter's boyfriend enlisted in the Army back in April. He is stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia - very proud of him. My oldest daughter's boyfriend is the stay-at-home-dad - also very proud of him. So, that's my story - still haven't been able to leave Illinois, but really, really wanting to. I do have a major interest I've experienced in the past few years - I absolutely love NASCAR - #24 is my ultimate favorite - for you rookies out there I'm speaking about Jeff Gordon. Been to several races throughout the US. Have traveled a bit just for fun: Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, pretty much stayed in the US, unfortunately. Hopefully before my demise I will get to Hawaii and anywhere there is a beach, beautiful waters and cabana boys!
