Brenda's Story

I went away to Eastern Illinois University and met the love of my life. We have been married for 36 years. Mark was from Northern Illinois but we moved to East Alton and lived there until 1992. He worked as a welder at Louisiana Dock Company and they moved his company to St. Louis. So after quite a few years of driving an hour each way we decided to move to Missouri. ars until 3 years ago when I woke up one morning numb on my left side. They thought is was Multiple Sclerosis but after seeing the MS doctor he determined it was something called Transverse Myelitis. The numbness is very painful and the nerves have been demyelinated and send the wrong signals. So I cannot work. My husband has to do most of the stuff around the house and I so appreciate him. He is my hero and the love of my life.
