Brenda's Story
Life
At Fairfax High I was Brenda Black. I left Fairfax during my last year to live with an aunt in Encino and thus graduated Reseda Highschool's first graduating class of only 64 students. I miss old friends from Fairfax. My friends at the time were Marsha Koran, Dennis Poncher, Burt Sugarman, Abby Gratz, Joyce Goldstein. I was in a club called the Donatellos. I married Roger Lewin in 1960. Roger went to University High (Dennis Poncher introduced us.) Roger and I had two children, Amy and Ross. keside near San Diego and is a social worker. Roger and I were divorced in 1973. I became friends then with Roz Harvey, also a Fairfax High graduate Roger remarried and was married for 26 years when he passed away in 1999 at age of 61. We miss him. I remarried in 1983 to Jim Riese, an engineer I met when we both worked at Lockheed Aircraft. I was a freelance writer after splitting from Roger and basically raised both kids alone. Have had two non-remarkable books published and many magazine editorials. I spent last summer in front of court TV watching another Fairfax High alumni and really began to miss old friends. I haven't seen or heard from anybody in many years.
