PERSONAL INFORMATION
Growing up, I had the best of both worlds. I lived in Green Hills during the week and enjoyed life on a farm during the weekends. My parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cass, raised me in a loving home, passing on their affection for people and their belief in honesty.
After graduating from Hillsboro High School, I attended technical school and graduated with a degree in business. My initial goal was to become an office manager, but I far exceeded it by attaining a position with Ryder Truck Rental as their Public Relations Coordinator. In my spare time, I acquired her Real Estate license in 1978 and sold part time. I took a leave of absence in 1985 to help my parents through a period of illiness.
REAL ESTATE BACKGROUND
Then in 1987, I once again entered the business world, but this time I decided to go full time in Real Estate. It proved to be one of the most challenging, yet rewarding decisions of my life and since then, I have been at the top of my field.
I started as an affiliate at Prevue Properties and worked hard from eight in the morning until eleven at night. My perseverance paid off. I sold over a million dollars of real estate that first year, gaining my first Million Dollar Award and didn't stop there. I soon became the Broker of Prevue Properties. ties, I moved to Crye-Leike Realtors for 8 years and then to Legacy Properties/GMAC for 2 years. Missing the opportunity to train agents I decided to open Crossroads Realty in June, 2002. In 2004, ERA Pacesetters approached me and wanted to by my company. With the growth of Mt Juliet, I thought it would be good for the agents with all that "ERA" said they had to offer. Well, we all make bad business decisions, which this was a HUGE mistake. Within 4 month a company that I had poured my heart into was desolved. From that point on until NOW, my life has been upside down. I was able to save my building and it is currently rented, but have lost everything else. But, life goes on.
I still have my real estate license, but as we all know, the market is a bit slow.
I have started a new company where I dispatch out for Auto Carriers and am making a decent living with that, but certainly less than selling real estate.
COMMENTS
With all the stress, my health has been affected and I can barely walk now with out pain. But am seeking medical attention when I can afford it.
Life has really changed for me in the last 5 years. I am thankful for what I have and that my children and grand children are healthy. I always look at things as it could be worse. However I have learned to make a $20 bill go a lot further than I use to.
