Brenda's Story
Life
After going through 3 Brain Stem surgeries from 1999 to 2001, I consider myself very fortunate and try to live each day to it's fullest! After High School, I received a Tennis Scholarship to Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. My sister Sonya who graduated in 1982 also received a Tennis Scholarship and joined me at Trevecca. I studied Youth and Music Ministry and remained in Nashville. I am currently the National Account Sales Rep for the largest Christian Music Publisher in the world. I love the Music Industry and have been working in this field since 1986. Sonya returned to Brooksville where she is now a Teacher and just received her Masters Degree! Some of you may know my sister Jennifer (J.J.) who graduated in 1972; she is still in Fl and works in the Medical Industry. My brother Gary who graduated in 1975 was in the Air Force for a while and is now living outside of Nashville and is a Sales Rep for a major Bakery. Some of you may remember my Mom; Ruth Frye who was the Secretary at the Junior High for many years. Unfortunately she lost her life to cancer at the very young age of 53. My Dad died 4 1/2 years ago so going home to Brooksville is not the same, but will always be "Home".
I love the simple life and have traded city life for country living. I have a Log Cabin that sits on 4 acres 60 miles outside of Nashville, Tennessee that I share with my Partner of 15 years. I have 2 Golden Retrievers: Lilly and Ginge...Expand for more
r; a miniature daschund named Lucy and 4 cats that run around on the property. I still love tennis and anything that has to do with outdoors!
I still return to Brooksville several times a year to visit family and friends. I always make time to eat at Coney Island and look for old friends while I am there!
Some of my best memories are about growing up in Brooksville and the friends I made along the way! My favorite time in high school was Band and all of the Band trips, Monday night Marching practice (Mr. Manuel), Band Camp, Friday night Football games, Tennis Matches, Bon Fires at Homecoming...I could go on and on. I often think about the friends I made along the way in Brooksville; from 1st grade up until the time I left for College. Whether we just said hello in passing or we were good friends, I would love to catch up with anyone out there who would like to get back in touch. Take care and best wishes!
School
Of course my Senior year was the greatest! I think we were the last graduating class to have the Bon Fires. Favorite teachers were: Mr. Manuel, Ms. Chambless, and Ms. Crouthamel.
