Brenda's Story
After graduating I got married and we moved to Norfolk, Va, for a few years while he was in the Navy. After he was discharged we moved back to Ohio. Whew!! I was glad to get back, although I loved the beach especially in the winter, the rest of the time was way too hot for this Buckeye. Our son was born in 1976, our daughter in 1977 and our divorce in 1978. The kids and I settled back in Grove City and I began my new career - single mom.
I met my 2nd husband in 1986 and we got married that same year. I was blessed with a bonus son the same age as my daughter. We had a surprise.(!) Son in 1987. We found a nice home out in the country in Circleville and moved our crew out there. I still live in the same place, although my husband died in 2016. My daughter also passed in 2019 of metastatic breast cancer. (Get those yearly mammograms, ladies!!!!)

nddaughters. Everyone lives pretty close and it makes seeing those kiddos easier. The age gap between the 3 older kids and the youngest meant I have 3 sets of older grandkids and 1 set of younger ones. That means I still have babies to love on.
I worked 28 years as a paralegal for some interesting attorneys. I loved the work and reluctantly retired.
I'm happy to be rockin the retirement years on the old ponderosa (as my late husband referred to it). When I was daydreaming in study hall, about how my life would play out, I never imagined i would be raising 4 kids, working for attorneys and living out in the country!! I saw myself on a terrace in Italy or Greece, writing my next book, sipping a cup of coffee and gazing out at the ocean. I can honestly say I think my real life has been much better, if not as well paid. My fortune has been my family, funny stories and some terrific life-long friends.
