Brenda's Story
Life
After high school, completed one-year commercial course at UNC Greensboro, got married, worked at UNC Chapel Hill for less than a year, and then moved back to Mt. Airy. Had three wonderful children in Mt Airy NC, moved to Shreveport LA in 1969, then to Dallas TX in 1970. Divorced in 1986 after 25 years of marriage. Took early retirement as of Jan 31, 2005 from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas with plans to work part-time and to spend lots of time w/son, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as with close friends, and enjoying some favorite pastimes. Have four grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. Oh, yes, if I could do my high school years, in particular, I would do it all over again!!! I loved going to school and even doing my homework. And I loved playing basketball and dancing!

l for approx 6 months in the Graduate School Dean's Office, moved back to Mt. Airy, had three children, divorced 1986 after 25 years of marriage, worked 27 years and retired from the The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas January 31, 2005 and part-time work after that. Definitely enjoying my retirement and spending lots of time with family and friends.
Workplace
Wrapping gifts at JC Penney's to administrative and later to top-level administrative positions at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Now retired. Worked part-time at Dillard's Department Store for six months after retirement but quit when I realized I wasn't ready for more work YET. I then worked at Jenny Craig for five years and was laid off unexpectedly mid-July 2012 due to store closing. Now working part-time at JCP Dallas and spending time with family and friends, and doing just what I want to do the rest of the time. Just enjoying life during the next chapter in my life!
