Brenda's Story

Life No idea how Howarth got connected with my name, but oh well!! Life has certainly been an adventure for me! I've worked for the DoD as a civil servant and contractor, I'm actually using that night school degree! I have been blessed with a beautiful home that I share with my 2 dogs and I enjoy being single and successful, life is good!!! I'm happy to say I'm still in touch with many friends from Ft. Hunt and count my blessings everyday. I love to play tennis, can ski till I drop and have a garden every summer. I own a Tastefully Simple business and am having a blast! School Ft. Hunt was a great place to grow up. I am still friends with lots of "kids" from Ft. Hunt and treasure the fact that we've kept in touch. I always think of Mr. Levy with a smile and still have that yearbook with the picture of him getting ready to swing a ruler at Laura Wallace. My happiest memory of Ft. Hunt? GRADUATION!!! College I remember some classes in college were great, some sucked beyond belief (and some people loved statistics?). I had a business law professor that was funnier than David Letterman, I went to every Entrepreneurship class given and the environmental science class changed how I look at ...Expand for more
drinking water and our food supply - I was already in the process of turning into a vitamin, organic food health nut and that class just cemented it in. I loved getting college credit when I taught aerobics when the professor was out (since I was an instructor at Balley's it helped) and I also liked playing softball and tennis for an easy A. People thought I was nuts that I liked Economics, but oh well. I still go to the college campus to soccer games, some football games and even make it to a few ice hockey games. Go Terps! Workplace I've done a wide variety of work and lots of it depended upon what part of the world I lived in. I started as a word processor for DOD and entered night school. I took a break from that career when I married and moved to Florida and then the US Virgin Islands where I worked as a waitress. I returned to the Chesapeake Bay area and work in a Planning & Zoning Dept and then back to TRW where I completed my degree and went into various financial/office management positions. I've worked in materials management, business management and am now happy to be settling into Earned Value on another DOD contract close to home. I love a 20 minute commute with little traffic!
