Brenda's Story
I've had a busy life since graduation. I went to Tri-Cities State Tech and received a bachelors degree in Executive Secretarial Science, while I was working as a CNA. Then in Oct. 1987 I got married to Mike Montgomery. We were married for eleven years and have 2 sons, Michael and Matthew, and a daughter, LaBreeska. Mike passed away in an accidental house fire. Then I married Rick Way in Jan. 2001, and he committed sucide a few years later. I am now married to a wonderful man, Terry Miller from Kingsport, and he has a 31-year old daughter that is a RN. 22 and is married. He also has a 4 year-old son and is expecting another little boy Jan 3, 2010. My son, Matthew, just graduated from Daniel Boone in 2009, and is going to Tennessee Temple University with a wrestling scholarship. My daughter is in 9th grade and is being home-schooled due to some physical disabilities. After injuring my back, I decided to use, my education. So I got a bookkeeping job at Terminix International, then got laid off. I then worked as an office manager at Oak Hill Funeral Home in Kingsport. I have now gone back to doing private duty CNA work, just working for myself.
