Brenda's Story
Life
The last 35 ( I can't believe it has been that long) years has really quite eventful. I am happily married to my best friend. He is a joy to be around and is a wonderful step dad to my 3 children and the 10 grandkids love him. We love the time with the grandkids. I also have 1 great-grandchild.
I have been working for the State of Colorado for the past 20 years and work with the computer technology group for the Depatment of Corrections.
My home life is more that I ever expected. we have a home large enough for all the children and grandchildren to come home whenever they want. We live 6 miles outside of town and therefore we have a very lovely, quiet place located in the trees away from everything. It is a nice escape from work life. have a cattery called Alpine Legends and raise Pixiebob cats that are bred to look like small Bobcats aor Lynxs. We also have a small herd of deer that we call pets. The winters mild and the summers are wonderful, never too hot or cold. We love to hike and go four-wheeling in the mountains. The fact that we love the outdoors and being with our grandkids gives us the incentive to take good care of ourselves and our health. We try to eat correctly, exercise and stay positive in our thinking. I really believe that the one thing that has changed my life the most has been finding a 12 step program and finally accepting a Higher Power into my life. Don't get me wrong, I am not a religious fanatic but I have found a Spirituality that has given me a new awakening.
