Brenda's Story
How many of you are having a hard time realizing we have been out of high school for 50 years. It doesn't seem possible.
During the last fifty years I worked at WSB Radio in the sales department for nine years. I met quite a few famous people during that time, like the Lone Ranger, Sandra Dee, Smiley Burdett, Lester Maddox and others I can't remember now. I left there just before the birth of my first son.
I married on February 26, 1966. My first son (Kes) was born in 1968, my daughter (Sharon) in 1971 and my second son (Chris) in 1975.
Once my children were older, I went to work for Marietta City Schools. First, I was an interpreter for a deaf child (a "hobby" I learned at church), and then when she moved I became the secretary to the Principal ...Expand for more
at Park Street School and then the entire office moved to the new Lockheed Elementary School when it opened.
I am now divorced, have been for a number of years. My children have all married and I have six grandchildren, five boys and one girl.
I have worked for Cobb County Elections for more than 30 years as an Area Supervisor. I am responsible for manning and maintaining nine polling places, all in the city of Marietta. I also help teach the training classes.
I still enjoy Marietta First Baptist, my church home.
I do a lot of babysitting and reading a good book is still my favorite type of relaxation. I'm trying to save some money so I can go back to Europe. This time I want to go to Venice.
