My Thatcher project (Lacanian Psychoanalysis of Margaret Thatcher based on her biographical and autobiographical material has stalled. While in New Haven I went page by page through Ecrits and volume 3 of the Seminar Series recording meaningful statements about the ego as Lacan conceives of it. Got burned out after that. Next step is going to be a similar process involving the term "the real" which is by far the most problematic term Lacan employs.".
