Brent Everett:  

After graduating from Hoover High in 1978, I attended Brigham Young University (BYU) for my freshman year of college (1978-79). In August 1979, I began serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Louisiana and Mississippi, which was an extraordinary experience. Upon completion of my missionary service (August 1981), I returned to my studies at BYU completing a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology in 1986, followed by a Masters of Science degree, also in Geology at BYU, in 1989. In 1990, after a short stint as an environmental consultant, I began working in the State Superfund program of the Utah Division of Environmental Health (which later became the Utah Department of Environmental Quality), though at that time was part of the Utah Department of Health. Initial duties were as a Project Manager, overseeing the CERCLA process for large Superfund sites. In 1993, I was hired as a Section Manager in the Superfund Branch, a position I served in for 10 years. I returned to university in 2002 while working full-time to study Business Administration and completed a Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the University of Utah in 2004.
