Brent's Story
Life
Hi there. In case you don't remember who I am, just look in your yearbook or enlarge the pic I posted. My pic was terrible but I didn't have anyone to impress so I guess I didn't care how I looked. I've been at the same weight since high school which is amazing but scary as well. I weigh 125 lbs and I've been trying to gain weight. My brothers and my dad are skinny so that's where I got it from. I I'll give my life story from graduation and work up to the present. I attended Ventura College for a few years but didn't quite finish obtaining an AA degree. I continued living in Ventura until 2001, then I moved to Las Vegas. What led up to moving to Las Vegas you ask? I was always the shy type and still am until I get comfortable around others then look out! Anyway, I decided to try chat rooms online in an attempt to meet single women. I was in chat rooms for about 6 months every night after work chatting away with women from all over the globe. I was hoping to find a woman in Ventura or in a state that wasn't too far away. One night I happened to be chatting with a woman who lived in Las Vegas. She seemed really nice so we started chatting every day. After a few weeks she decided to drive to Ventura to meet me and we went out to dinner. We liked each other, dated for a year before getting married on June 17th 2002 and the rest is history. (We went to Paris for our honeymoon and had an absolutely fabulous time). I moved to Las Vegas on 9/4/01 and had a job interview on September 8th. The interview went well and it looked like I was going to get the job and then 9/11 hit. A lot of people were laid off and I didn't get the job. It took 2 1/2 months before I got a job at International Game Technology. I started out as a janitor and took classes through the company to be a slot technician. I worked at IGT for 13 years before being laid off in 2015. I currently work at Red Rock Station ad a slot technician and have been employed there for 3 years. My wife and I adopted a baby boy in October of 2004. He was born on October 19th and we took him home on the 22nd. His name is Samuel Isaac and he's 13 years old already. Samuel's birth parents gave him up for adptio...Expand for more
n because they didn't have a home and they weren't able to provide for him. His mother was 30 years and the father was 22 years old when Sammy was born. Her name is Joselyn and his name is Nick. She's Canadian Indian and he's Mexican so the baby has a little of them both in his face. It takes a lot to adopt and we had never done it before. We adopted after trying to have a child of our own and failing. We tried everything except invitro which costs about $10,000 for each try and isn't guaranteed. We decided to take that money and put it into adopting. My wife's name is Karen and she's a wonderful, beautiful woman and I'm so lucky to have met her. We have a Jack Russell Terrier and his name is Copper. He has a lot of energy and likes to play all the time. I'll close by thanking you for taking the time to read this. I want to give a special thanks to all of you that signed my yearbook. I still have it along with the graduation video. I'm strange in some ways and my wife will agree with me. I hope your life is as blessed as mine is and I wish you the best of luck in the future.
P.S. "We're the best, second to none, we're the class of '91!"

Workplace
I told you a little about my job in the life bio so I'll try not to repeat those things in this section. There are many different departments at IGT; but I work in the Prep department. My job is to test the slot machines to make sure they're working properly. I have to make the glass has the right paytable information on it and I have to make sure the games function properly. I like dayshift better than graveyard because my sleep has been better since I switched to days. My previous job was at Ventura Harbor as a janitor. I got to work outside sweeping, wiping down handrails, picking up trash, and cleaning the restrooms at the Harbor and at the beach. It wasn't the best job in the world, but it paid well and I liked it. I worked there from March of '95 to March of '01 before leaving and starting a life of my own. That's about it as far as the jobs go. I don't want to talk your ear off. Take care and thanks for taking the time to read more about my life. I hope to make it to the 20 year reunion.
