Went to Fresno City College after graduation from Mc Lane. Did one year and decided to join the navy. Left for navy bootcamp in OCT 1980. From bootcamp I went to submarine school in Groten CT for six weeks, then to my job training for eight weeks. I was sent to the USS Drum Fast Attack submarine in San Diego CA. I was married about a year into this tour. I was there for four years and did several patrol and visited many countries (mostly through the periscope) I then went to Hawaii for three months of training and lived there while in training. I then volunteered to go to new construction of the Trident Subamarine USS Alaska in New London CT and did patrols on that eventually brought the boat to Bangor WA Trident Sub base. I then transferred to the Trident Training Facility as an instructor for four years. I was also working with a fire dept in Kitsap Co WA where I became a LT/firefighter/EMT and soon met my current wife. This brought me to about ten years of active duty service with the navy. I decided that after six years at sea and looking at another six years after teaching, I would pursue law enforcment. We had a son about a year into this. I had joined WA National Guard as a Tank Commander and did that for six years. I transferred to the Army Reserve Psychological Operations Unit in Portland OR and was there for four years.
