Life
Hi all. Since graduating from WHS I spent 4 1/2 years at EKU, graduating in Dec. 1994 with a degree in journalism. Right out of college I came to Parkersburg, W.Va. to work for `The Parkersburg News and Sentinel' as a staff writer/photographer. I have covered a variety of topics here ranging from county government, cops/courts and local entertainment to features like flying around in acrobatic jet and helping to cover the Jessica Lynch homecoming. I have photographed fires, arrests, wrecks, fairs, features in the park and so on. I have had some thrilling moments here and there (including one death threat.) boring meetings, press conferences or civic organization lunches I have to sit through. Needless to say, I have been kept busy. In March 2002, I got married to Dawn Elaine Starr of Marietta, Ohio. We bought a house in Belpre, Ohio (right across the Ohio River from Parkersburg). Dawn is a second-grade teacher at a school in Belpre. No kids yet, but we do have two golden retrievers, Sadie and Macie, who are a handful. I guess you could say I am a film buff (my wife just calls me a `geek'). I like movies. I am always citing my knowledge of various films while my wife just looks at me and calls me a `geek.' I try to make it back to Wilmington every now and then to visit my folks.
