A brief chronology of what I have been up to in the intervening years:
1970-74 spent a lot of time protesting the Vietnam War
spent some time SCUBA diving in Santa Cruz and Monterrey
Loved to ride the Big Dipper at the Boardwalk
took Wednesday mornings off from class in winter to fly fish for salmon and
steelhead in the San Lorenzo River, Santa Cruz
1974 Bachelors in Biology UCSC
1975-76 lab rat at SRI
Discovered that many beautiful women like ballroom dancing -- took up a new
lifetime hobby
1976-82 Grad School UC Berkeley
met a lot of fabulous women ballroom dancing
spent time fishing with my father
1982 PhD Biochemistry
1982-85 Post-Doc study in Seattle at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
1985-88 various positions at Syntex Pharmaceuticals and UCSF
lived in the avenues, Richmond District of SF

ased a horse and rode on the beach (it was still legal then)
met future wife Lily at swing dance party, Avenue Ballroom, SF
1989 moved to NYC to do cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
enjoyed living in Manhattan upper east side, Roosevelt Island & Forest Hills,
Queens
1991 Married Lily and gained step-daughter Sandy
1994 moved to Ohio to continue research career
reconnected with my father's side of the family, all of whom still live in OH
bought first home in University Hts, OH (2200 sq ft for $120K !!)
2001 dropped out of academic world and moved back home to join California Environmental Protection Agency -- work to clean up toxic industrial sites for reuse
Currenly live in Hayward, work in Berkeley, still dance with my wife, play "crazy eights" with my 6 yr old grand-daughter, Jordan, and have been on more slides and jungle gyms in the last few years than my entire life previously, go fly fishing when I need a mental health day (or week), take my nephews to Cal Bears football games, and remain grateful to be near my Mom, my sisters and their families, since moving back to California
