Brian's Story
Life
After high school I puttered around with a few jobs, moved to Washington, DC and finally served as a missionary in Spain for a couple years. After returning home I ...
(deep breath)
... began making plans for college, got married, moved west, had some kids, practiced martial arts, ran a few Boy Scout troops, played a lot of softball, restored an antique convertible, built a cabin in the mountains, spent a lot of nights under the stars, bought a motorcycle, learned computer stuff ...
(whew... there's more but I'll keep it to one breath)
Then one day I decided I wanted to fly for a living. I changed schools and graduated in Air Operations Management and Professional Pilot. I then moved to Atlanta, GA and got a job helping others find work as pilots hoping it would help me when my flight time had accumulated.
Well, it turns out helping others achieve their dreams doesn't pay very well in the long run, at least in aviation, and I ended up spending lots of years in a rewarding, but unfulfilling, career spanning two failed companies and bringing me full circle back to computer information systems, networking, ...Expand for more
and internet development.
Meanwhile, life took it's tole on my marraige and I spent a few years back in the dating scene until I found a perfect lady, moved to the middle of nowhere in the countryside of middle Georgia. I worked from home doing network administration and internet development for a few more years telecommuting then finally threw my hands in the air
again (literally!) and went looking for a career change.
I ended up back in the air (like I said, literally!) in
Jacksonville, Florida completing my flight ratings and building flight experience until someone would hire me as a pilot at a scheduled airline somewhere in this vast nation of ours.
It all paid off when, after a year of teaching others to fly, I was hired by Atlantic Southeast Airlines in Atlanta. I flew for them for a while until I landed a wonderful job in a corporate flight department. I'm currently enjoying the jet-set life (with someone else paying the bills!) and loving every minute of it.
We're now in Northeast Alabama in a nice lake community along the Tennessee River.
And life goes on.... (I'll let you know how it turns out!)
