Brian's Story

I would hope that my old friends would remember me as quiet, tolerant and easy going. I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. My family and friends thought I was a good dancer but it turned out differently. I still get out to dance here and there to blow off steam but my favorite way to relax is read a good book in bed. The wildest thing I ever did in school would be inappropriate to address in this blog but I will confer that I smoked between classes. That's the most you'll get out of me. If I'm going to work I need some alone time with a cup of coffee and my computer before I am able to deal with day-to-day stuff. A hero to me would be someone like Walt Disney or Barack Obama not Elizabeth Hasselback or Tyra Banks. I've lived in New Jersey, Long Island, Upstate New York and the Hudson river valley. I have several people I'd like to see again from my past just to stare at them for awhile and remember. I still enjoy a cigarette and the Today Show, wild life and music, church and food, friends and clients. My biggest surprise in life is to be where I am today. I live in a beautiful home on the Hudson river with magnificent views. If I could improve my home, I'd add a sunroom off the office. My dream home would be a sprawling ranch. I am not married and have no children and I am very content with that. I love to see Mr. Keotzner from 4th grade or Ms. McLean from 9th grade and a handful of other teachers just to tell them I enjoyed their class. If I won $100 million I'd give a portion of the money to my family to make sure they were set for life then spend the rest on vacations, other homes and unfortunate people. I attend 3 collages and one trade school and excelled in both. I trained extensively in my field of work and am currently still working in that field. To be truly happy, I would be retired, doing volunteer work for people with co-dependencies. I'm 47 now but when I was 12 I thought that people my age now would be MIA, some are and some aren't. I'm working hard and plan on doing so the rest of my life. I only had 101 real crushes in school and God only knows what happened to them and I can't remember who was first. Was it Christine or James from kindergarden? They both had great hair and that's what I loved. Low and behold,...Expand for more
I'm a hairstylist today. My best friend would tell you that I'm fairly deep in my thoughts but open minded and funny but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as stand-offish and quiet. I dress a bit different than school years. I like clothes that are recent. No suits or ties here. The weirdest job I ever held was as a stipper in the mid '80's. Crazy years then and I got into more things than I care to expose. I share my home with a housemate which I've known for 19 years. A friend and trustworthy, he's a minister and an engineer. No trophies here but I have been in a couple infomercials and shows and advertisements. My biggest victory has been staying alive to this present date. If I had a chance to do over one thing in my life I would have went to computer school instead of cosmotology school in the early 80's. I would have been on the cutting edge of technology. In 10 years I hope to be happy, healthy and properous. I'm going to get there by listening to what is right, good and true. My oldest friend was a guy named David. We met in third grade and his life was cut short at the age of 23. He got me into a lot of fun trouble. We met when his 3rd grade teacher fell off a step ladder and knocked her self unconcious. He was looking for help and I was at the water fountian. My 3rd grade teacher heard the commotion and took care of the situation. We clicked well because of how he described the incident. "Her dress flew over her head and there was spit drooling out of her mouth. Her eyes were crossed and everybody could see her underwear". I was hysterically laughing by the end of his depiction. I think the one thing about me that would surprise everyone at my high school reunion would be my gray hair, my piercings and my tattoo's. My first job was at NuBest & co. where I got paid $98 per week to shampoo hair. What I remember most about that time was the intensive training. I hated it but it taught me some very important skills. One of the best childhood memories I have and I'll never forget would be the late nights working on school plays. Thank God, I finally finished all the Q&A's suggested in the story wizard located over there ---------------------------> So that's it from me. What are you all up too?
