Brian's Story
Life
Kate and I have a son, Keith William, who was born in 2003, and a daughter, Lilian Elise who was born in 2006.
College
Went to SUNY Potsdam from 1990-1994 where I got my BA in computer science and met my wife Katherine Engel.
I took several classes at Boston Univeristy towards a masters degree, but found I learned more at work than at school.
Workplace
I started at Raytheon straight out of college in 1994 and worked in the Air Traffic Control division for 6.5 years. As ...Expand for more
part of that job, I spent 9 months in Amsterdam, Netherlands installing an air traffic control system.
After Raytheon I went Cereva Networks in December of 2000, which was a storage startup, which shutdown in June of 2002.
In September of 2002 I started working at another networking/storage startup, Acopia Networks. Acopia Networks was acquired by F5 in September of 2007.
I am principal software engineer, and mostly work on UNIX platforms in c/c++, tcl and other shell languages.
