Brian's Story
Life:
I've been around the world and back since 1985 and I'm glad I had the experience to do so.
I was down in the Al Giers / Jefferson Parish area of New Orleans helping with the relief mission as a Guardsman after Hurricane Katrina and Rita had hit the Gulf coast and met some unique people in the process. I won't forget that place or the heat and bugs.
I now own a house and a dog on the peninsula, run a small business and I'm an active Sea Kayaker as well and Martial Artist.
Military:
Served in the Marines from 1984-89 as a Communicator and Naval Gunfire Spotter. Was stationed on Okinawa in 1985 as well as Camp Pendleton from 86-89 near San Diego as well as going to sea for a 6 month deployment with the USS Belleau Wood LHA-3 with BLT 3/1 11th MAU in 1987 and saw a lot of the Western Pacific as a result. That was a fun and exciting WESTPA...Expand for more
C back then.
As a Guardsman, I eventually served as a Bradley Master Gunner and Bradley Crew Evaluator at Ft. Hunter Liggett in the California Army National Guard on the M2A2 model with Comanche 1/185th Inf. (M) BFV.
Along with many others, I was also Federalized and later deployed in the days after 9-11 under Operation Noble Eagle.
Served 45 days in New Orleans with the relief mission after Hurricane Katrina and Rita had struck.
I retired as of 2006 after 22 yrs in uniform and have moved onto bigger things.
This bio is pretty dated now. I eventually got into horses and have ridden both western and now practice classical riding on several different breeds of horse with a goal to visit a riding academy in Portugal to work with a majestic breed called the Lusitano hopefully within the near future. I'm well on my way now, just paying my dues.
