I took D for a hair cut. He was sitting propped up on a seat that sat across the arms of the salon chair. He was so excited when she finished, he got a huge smile on his face and very quickly went to slide off the seat. Dylan: Grandpa, will you help me put my chaps on.
Dad: I thought your mom told you to keep your pj's on and go to bed.
D: (whispering) Shhhh! Don't tell Mom. I have my pajamas on underneath, and if she comes downstairs I can take them off real fast cuz I'm quicker than her.
Dylan: I didn't want those pants! I can't wear cowboy boots with those pants!
Me: Well, you wore them with your swim trunks!
D: Yeah, but I have to wear jeans with cowboy boots in case I ride a horse today.
Me: I don't think you're going to be riding a horse today at daycare.
D: Mom... (with his hands on his hips, giving me a look that's all business) It could happen!
D: I don't want that shirt.
Me: but it says, "I love candy, toys, and Mommy"
D: Well, but I still love you with this shirt on".
