Bruce's Story
May 1971 - graduated from Belhaven College with a BA degree in Social Science.
November 1971 - Commissioned a 2nd Lt in the United States Marine Corps.
September 1975 - Left the Marine Co
rps as a Captain.
1975-1979 -Worked for the Miss. Emergency Management Agency.
1979- Received a MSed Degree in Education.
1979-2003-Worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency/Dept. of Homeland Security. Retired from the Dept. of Homeland Security as a Senior Executive (Director of the Office of National Preparedness in Washington, DC).
2003-2007 - Served as a member of the Governor of Alabama's Cabin...Expand for more
et as the Director of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.
2007-Present-President of Emergency Management Associates Consulting Services.
In 1996 I completed Harvard University's Program for Senior Executives.
Currently live in the Birmingham, Al. area community of Alabaster.
Have four children and five grandchildren.
I working on some really neat projects with the National Academy of Sciences (on Climate Change), The Naval Post Graduate School, The Homeland Security Institute, and The NOAA, Science Advisory Board. I am not doing very well in trying to retire. Oh well one of these days.
