Bruce's Story

Its been 40 years since leaving Paschal and its been an interesting ride. Attended TCJC then went to Stephen F. Austin. Ran out of money and interest so went and fought forest fires with the Forest Service. Went back to SFA and got a degree in Forest Ecology and moved to Albuquerque where I stayed for 21 years. Did contract ecology studies for the Forest Service and BLM, then started working on water rights cases for Indian Tribes. That began a 20 year association with tribes across the US. I started a Tribal Environmental department for one of the Pueblo Tribes in NM. I also at one point started a tour business taking people to sites in the Southwest.(also got a river g...Expand for more
iudes license in Utah). But then it happened, " Yea all this is great but I want to go someplace different and do something different." After 20+ years in the desert I moved to the Gulf coast and taught professional mariners water survival skills. My house was a thousand feet from the beach and the best place I ever lived. But it turned out that this was Ground Zero, where Katrina would push up a 38 foot tidal surge and remove my neighborhood from the face of the planet!. So back to Fort Worth where I've been since, but shortly will be returning to the Gulf Coast and I can't wait. Lost my mind? most likely but wouldn't have it any other way. Best to all who come this way.
