Bruce's Story

Life I was married to Cherie Waters in Ely, Nevada (June 1979). We were together for 5 years and had two sons (both in the Army and serving this great country), before we divorced in 1984. I joined the Army in that same year, this started my life of traveling and exploring who I am. I have lived in many states and visited many more over the years. I lived in the Southern California area for the better part of 17 years, where I made alot of good friends and memories. The only thing I really want out of this is to reconnect with anyone that remembers me and wants to talk about the old days...and make some new ones. Some contacts that have connected with me from here, I did not remember at first but it is all good now! March 2005 I moved back to Provo to be there for my Mother after Dad's passing away, I hope all my travel days are not over but just on hold! I have now bought a home here in Provo for my friends to visit..."Life is good!". I have became a Grandpa as of July 9th 2006, her name is "Abigail Joann Roberts"! What a great feeling! School I don't know what to say about school as I did not attend much, "sorry Dad!" I liked being around my friends and those were great years, had I only known that-then. I just want to thank those frineds that were always there for me: Royal Holdaway, Lyle Fry, David Larson, David Holmes and Jeff Fry(R.I.P. my friend!). There were others that sould be mentioned but with limited time and typing skills, just know that I was blessed knowing you all. ...Expand for more
Workplace I started working constuction at Dunex Inc.(then it was know as "Mike Dunn Excavation) in Lindon. It was through Mike Dunn that I was offered a job in california in 1988, I worked for Gary Mason (Iron Horse Excavator Rental). In 1994 I was offered a job at Harber Companies and joined the Union I.U.O.E. Local # 12. In 1997 I went to Salt Lake City to work on the I-15 freeway with Penhall Company. I went back to Harber Companies of San Bernardino, Ca. in 1998. Worked for Frehner Construction in Las Vegas, Nevada for several years before moving back to Alta Loma, California. I am very lucky to have a job that allows me to travel and see this great country. I have now (2005) started to work with "WW Clyde" of Springville, Utah. This puts me in Local #3 but I am still a member of Local #12 and will probally return to Southern California or Las Vegas. Military In 1984 I completed basic trainning, Fort Benning,Ga....C-4-2, honor platoon for our trainning cycle (Harmony Church). I also did my Airborne trainning right after basic trainning before moving to my duty station. I was then stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina assigned to B.Co.1/325 Infantry. 82nd Airborne Division. During my time there I was in 2nd platoon as a "Gunner" and Headquarters platoon as "Unit Armorer". This was one of the greatest times in my life, I learned more about myself and this country than I ever did before. Jumping let me grow as a person and to rely on myself and others, it was also a HUGE RUSH!
