Bruce's Story
Life
After high school I attended the Univ. of Oregon in Eugene for 5 years, getting my bachelors degree in Biology and General Science. I played in the U. of O. band for most of that time. I still love orchestra and classical music.
I got married several years after college to a girl I met in Eugene. We had 4 kids, but I'm divorced now for about 9 years. The kids stayed with me; but they are almost all grown up now. My youngest son Daniel started playing my old clarinet in 8th grade after it sat in the closet for 25 years. He is now a professional clarinet player in the Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra down in Ashland. He also started on piano (which is really his primary instrument now) and wants to be a concert pianist. He is unbelievably talented. All these kids have amazed me with their growth and their accomplishments. I'm very proud of all of them. I lived in Calif. for a couple years in 1980-82, but I've been back in Portland since 1982. I got interested in astronomy in college, and it's still a passion of mine. I built my own telescope (several,in fact) that I use to go stargazing up in the mountains with friends and family. I like to ski. I like to snorkel and scuba dive. I'm a certified diver. I love the beach. I helped my folks build a beach house in the 90's and I love going there. I'm also interested in aviation and flying. I'm now building my own airplane, and it should be ready to fly in another year or two. Then I plan on traveling and flying for fun!

Workplace
I'm in the financial planning and investment advisory business. I have a stock broker's securities license and an insurance license. I've been at it for more than 20 years now, and my dad was in the business for 26 years before me, so I've been in or around this business most of my life. Most of my clients are everyday working men and women. Many of them are retired or nearing retirement, but I have some young people, too.
