Bruce's Story
Life
I have changed over the years, as many have done due to situations and conditions to which a person as lived. I have been in the military for over 16 years and that has been my guiding force during the period. I have learned to live for the now, not waiting for the future which may never come.
Military
I am retired from the armed forces. The military provided many opportunities which others can only imagine, e.g. watching a beautiful sunset from the Pacific Ocean to moving across a country with enemy soldiers preparing to hold their ground "til to the death". e other cultures abroad (how many people can say that have had the opportunity to travel and live in more than 25 countries). I understand that many do not understand my thought, especially with all the horrors heard about in Iraq. I do not see the problems that most see on TV. I have been there and have seen the conditions that Saddam forced upon his people while he lived in his palaces. I have seen the improvements to the Iraqi economy as well as the basic living condtions and infrastructure. I understand that all do not agree with my thoughts. The military should not be seen as a fighting force, rather, as a force that is there to ensure that all are treated fairly and humanely.
