Bryan's Story

Life I have been a Byzantine Catholic priest since August 11, 1985. So in 2005 I celebrated 20 years of priesthood. I have been the pastor of the Lake County (OH) Byzantine Catholic Churches since October, 1993. The Parishes were merged and are now Holy Transfiguration Byzantine Catholic Parish. In May, 2001 I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. In September, 2001 I received a matching Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Eastern Christian Studies from the University of Balamond in Lebanon. I have travelled extensively in Eastern and Central Europe. I have also lived for a semester in the Middle East visiting Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and the Holy Land. I made a month-long trip to Australia in early 2004, where I visited old friends and preached in a number of Byzantine Catholic Churches in Queensland and Victoria states. ber, 2002 I was elevated to be the Protopresbyter (Dean) of the Eparchy of Parma's 20 parishes in Ohio. I serve on my Bishop's Presbyteral Council and am the Chairman of the Eparchial(Diocesean) Building Commission. I am also a Civil and Industrial Engineer, having studied and worked in these areas before entering the Seminary. In Fall of 2004, I joined the Faculty at John Carroll University in University Heights, OH. I teach an Introductory Class in Eastern Christianity, and an advanced course in Eastern Christian Spirituality. I greatly enjoy teaching, in addition to my parish work. It would be great to hear from old friends and Classmates. You are all welcome to join us for services at 8:30 AM Sunday at St. Michael the Archangel Church 630 Plum Street in Fairport Harbor.
