Bryan's Story

Life After graduation, I spent ten weeks in South Carolina at Ft. Jackson attending basic training. From there, it was off to Ft. Gordon to learn about tactical telecommunications. After my training I was stationed at Ft. Bragg (NC) outside the beautiful town of Fayette'nam (Fayetteville) for three years with the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). While there, I was eventually tasked to train other SF and SO (Special Operations) units in the use of a new satellite communications radio system in which my unit was the testbed for. I trained members of the 1st Special Forces Group (A), who are located in Washington State, and have a detachment in Japan, and I also trained members in the 7th Special Forces Group (A), who were located just up the road from us at Bragg. After serving my time in the south, I did three years in the US Army Reserves in various units. Military Police, and three medical units. Can you say inactivation? In the medical units, I was a communication team leader, responsible for training others in the use of various radios and communication equipment. It honestly seems like I cannot get away from radios or training. I also served as unit armorer for four units at one time, and range master when we would qualify on a yearly basis. As the master of almost deployments, I did the whirlwind tour. Desert Storm. (I got to sit around at Pope AFB) Somalia. (My group went, I didn't) Haiti. (Long story, basically it had to do with the incompetence of officers) Denver. (For the Pope's visit back in 94'95) I have two kids, my daughter Regina was born in June 1997, and her little brother William was born Feb 2002. I am employed by the College o...Expand for more
f DuPage as a Communications Training Officer / 911 Dispatcher for their Police Department. I am also used and abused as the ad-hoc bad guy for traffic stop scenarios with new officers, building search scenarios, and our rapid response training program. I have recently graduated (08/05) with honors from American InterContinental University, having earned a 3.71 gpa. In the near future I would like to go back and obtain either a second bachelors degree or masters in forensic sciences, public administration and emergency management, or maybe information security. School High School: HA, good ole DGN. If I could, I would redo the good times which were had; hanging out in WDCB with Colin, RJ and Bobby D, watching MTV (when they actually played videos) during Mr. Reid's basic radio class (It was good to be the cable ops manager), hanging out at the White Castle on 75th and Main, acting up in Petey Fox's geometry class on the 3rd floor; "But I don't like coffee", or screwing around on nights with the crew. The things I would have changed; probably would have applied myself more in class, well maybe a little more. College: I eventually went back to school, after being out of the military, and started when I was with Motorola. I attended COD for almost two years, not quite finishing for an associates, however, when I transferred out, I had over one hundred hours. Due to my work schedule, and how I rotate, I was unable to finish there. I instead opted for one of those distance programs from American InterContinental University. I graduated in August of 2005 with a 3.71 gpa. Military I am not writing a seperate military bio. Read the life bio for everything.
