Bryan's Story
Well, after High School I couldn't decide what I wanted to "be" so in 1990 I decided that I would join the Navy and hopefully figure it all out. I spent the next four years on an aircraft carrier, was in Desert Storm and saw a whole lot of the world. By the time I finished my enlistment in 94 I had figured out that maybe college was a good idea. I also wanted a break so I moved to Las Vegas "for a year". I ended up staying out west for almost ten years. I lived in Vegas for a while but quickly tired of the Desert. I got engaged and moved to Portland Or, but the rain was too depressing. The girl and I moved to Reno NV, near Lake Tahoe in 97. I finished my BA there at the University of Nevada (still my favorite place in the world). The engagement didn't quite...Expand for more
pan out so after graduation in 2000 I moved back to Vegas for Law School. Graduated in 2003 and practiced there for a few months. By the fall of 03 I knew that I didn't want to be a lawyer and that I missed home. I moved back to VA in late 03. In early 04 I moved to the DC area and found a job. I met my wife Gabriela in late 04 and we were married in December of 05. Our first child was born about ten months later (why wait?) and we are now expecting our second in July of 08. Gabriela is a scientist and is the laboratory director for a small pharmaceutical company in Md and I now work for the National Institutes of Health, negotiating R&D contracts for the government.
