Dana's Story

Life Hi everyone! Here's a quick update about my life since Romeo: After high school, I attended and graduated from Ferris State University, degree in Visual Communications (graphic design). I worked in the metro Detroit area for a couple years in various advertising agencies. Soon after (1993) I met the love of my life, Bryan Wickenheiser (1989 graduate of Rochester High School -- veteran of the Gulf War, 101st Airborne). He was transferred to Chicago in 1994 -- I followed! Worked in Chicago for a couple years -- hated the snow!!! UGH!!! {{How do you guys do it?}} We were married 4 days before Christmas in December 1997. We moved soon after to Florida!! And here we are, 9 years later! Hmmm, we usually don't stay still that long ... must be time for a move! {{Hee, hee!!}} Oh, FYI, my whole family transplanted to Florida by Christmas 2001 ... Rick (yeah, he's a full grown adult now!) has since transplanted back to Michigan ... we'll see for how long!!! He's lasted longer than I thought, but still is there. He's quite the bachelor in his condo -- concerts, pro sports events, gambling with my uncle ... he's got it made!!! I worked at an ad agency here in Naples as their senior graphic designer. Won a number of Addy's (advertising world's equivalent to an Oscar!) gold and silver. The year I left, I won a National Addy for my de...Expand for more
sign work for the Naples Museum of Art. Yeah! In 2001 I left the agency to pursue a bigger career goal: being a mom!! Our daughter, Emma Suzanne, was born July of 2001 and our son, Bryan Scott II, soon followed in September of 2002. My husband, Bryan, owns his own computer company here Naples (he specializes in many things including bar-coding, surveillance set-up and networking). He's busy ALL the time! Our five year old even has her own computer in her bedroom. {{sigh.}} We live in Naples, Florida. I own my own scrapbook business and Bryan and I travel all over the U.S. (we're usually in Michigan in May!) doing scrapbook shows. It's a lot of fun! I also teach at the shows usually. Along with that venture, I am part owner in a local scrapbook store. As if that weren't enough, I also still do graphic design. I work with my former boss with some big jobs and do some smaller local stuff when I can. Plus, I try to spend time volunteering at my daughter's school. Whew!!! I keep in touch with a few Romeo-ites. Especially Renee Barnett- Morris (she's become one of my best friends), Julie Kersten-Sykes and Christine Thomson-Wilusz. A few others too but those are my core girls! Some things won't ever change! I'd love to hear from all of you! Drop me an email and I'll be sure to write back!!! Take care! Dana Hovitch-Wickenheiser
