After Lincoln, I moved back to Kentucky for the summer, to swim competatively with my old team of course. Then I moved up to Green Bay for a semester of intensive learning, before I headed off to Germany. I lived there for six years, going to med school for a year, working at the German Red Cross Hospital and, of course, touring and making MANY friends in MANY places. My heart is still there. I was engaged to a German girl from a very small village. I lived with her and her family for 2 years, before returning to the US. She was too scared to leave her village, so things did not work out the way we had planned. I love to tell people the stories of that period of my life. When I did settle down, I met a girl from Manitowoc, of all places. I was back in town to visit an old friend, and there she was.
