Bud's Story
Life with an update!
The short version: Baylor for undergrad; UT-Houston for medical school, residency, and a faculty appointment for five years. After all my life in Texas, my husband and I relocated to Vermont for three years. While it is pretty, one of my happiest memories was seeing it in my rear-view mirror as I was heading for Minneapolis.
After seventeen years in Minnesota, the winters finally got to me. We have relocated to Santa Fe with its vibrant art scene and (most importantly) GOOD FOOD!! Got a hot tub, views of the mountains, and all one level instead of stairs (more and more important as we get older).
I met my partner (and now husband) of the past twenty-seven years while in Houston - and we've not killed each other yet. We still travel and go to theatre/dance performances here and in NYC.
And, in the interest of feeding my artistic side, I started working as a professional photographer in 2019. I spent most weekends either...Expand for more
shooting shows or promo work. I have done short "weekend warrior" tours with several local bands too.
My parents have both passed away, so it's rare that I come down to Texas any more. Minnesota has become home, despite the winters! I do miss chicken fried steak and Tex-Mex, though.

School
There wasn't anyone of note I had a "crush" on in high school. I did date one girl; fortunately for all concerned, that didn't last long. With 20/20 hindsight, it would have been a disaster for all involved.
The teacher who inspired me the most? That one is easy - Ida Overman. "I, he, she, we, they, who ... again!"
Would I do it all over again? It depends - would I get to keep my credit cards, and (more importantly), someone else pay the bills? No, I wouldn't do it again. I'm having fun with my life at this point, and wouldn't want to go through all the rigamarole of high school/college/med school again.
