Floyd 'Butch''s Story
Life
Hey All,
Sooo much to tell, maybe a book is in order. A lifetime has passed since I saw most of you. I am in great health, financially debt free, and loving life I am happy to report.
Well lets start with my East Coast departure in 1997. I moved to the Front Range (Boulder,Denver)Colorado from Kutztown. Myself and a Golden Retreiver, what a life, a boy and his dog. From there it didn't take me long to end up in SW Montana as a Chef at an Orvis endorsed Fly fishing ranch near Ennis (Bozeman). I eventually experienced financial hardship (an employer owed me a bunch of money) and moved back to the Denver area where better paying jobs lived. But I never enjoyed life more than being in Montana, I will eventually move back. While in MT, you tend to have several seasonal jobs, I worked in a custom gun building shop-machinist, chef, fishing guide, Cowboy/ranch work, and other restuarant positions. Living only an hour from Yellostone NP. with Grizzlies, wolves and Sasquach you could hear the occasional screams of a hiker being eaten alive.
Fast forward-to Denver, I am back in Manufacturing at a mid-size company that has machined components on the Mars Rover and the vehicle enroute to Pluto. It bores the $hit out of me anymore, I'm done with it. I am returning to the...Expand for more
Brewing industry, where I actually know something and do it very well, sales/education.
Now on the status of my personal life..... NO-not married,no kids, didn't need to get divorced so I did not have to join that club, I hear it's an expensive membership?
I love the West and the spirit here in the mountains/high plains. It is almost nothing to jump in the truck and drive 5 hours for a weekend experience, like floating (in a raft) the Gunnison Gorge that has Class IV rapids-dangerous. I still travel a fair amount, like Seattle,California, all over Europe,
Belgium,Amsterdam,
Hawaii,Nevada,Wyoming,Utah,Montana,New Mexico,etc.
I feel privileged to live this life, but it does come with a price, of sort.
I will add more content as it occurs to me, so keep in touch and remember 'never leave fun to have fun'
Butch
Also an additional note, for those not in the 'know' about my sister Crystal. We lost her in a tragic motorcyle accident in June of 02. Her and John Delaney were riding a motorcycle in the Pennsylvaina mountains and lost control of the bike and unfortunately resulted in Crystals death. She left behind 3 little boys and at the time ages were 10,4 and 8mos old. Thank you to all whom experssed kind words and condolences, as our family very much appreciates it.
