Cindy's Story

72-89, sheesh, how does one put it in a nutshell? or send it out lengthy and be very boring? 1972-Met a man, Ron, thru a mutual friend. He, his brother & SIL were living in Renton. He was 25, I was 18. We hit it off and were married Sept 1972. The 4 of us lived together in a house on Kent Kangley Rd, next door to Friendly Floyds. Fred Meyer is there now. There until BIL & SIL moved back to NY to be closer to her mother. Had horses while there, 2, and several St Bernard s. Fixed up and moved to the little house next door to my parents in Kent, 256th & 180th. Lived there for many years, built a 4 stall barn and raised Arabian horses, showed them in WA & OR. I had the horse to beat in 1980 in Amateur/Amateur Owner to Ride, Western Pleasure in WA state. We were Region V, Champion Western Pleasure Amateur, unanimous. We went to the Arabian Nationals that year, in Lexington, KY and we were top 19 in the Nation. On the way home, my horse got colic and died at Oklahoma State University Vet College. I never got back into showing after t...Expand for more
hat. That was an incredible and unforgettable time in my life. I worked several different jobs during that time. Heath Tecna/Shipping & Receiving, Boeing, City of Des Moines, Animal Control (the only job I ever hated), McMurray Bloodstock, Office Assistant at a Thoroughbred Horse Farm in Enumclaw. Then I started working for King County Roads as a laborer in Jan 1984 and that began a career that would last for 25 yrs. I started out in Black Diamond and then transferred to Maple Valley. 1986 My marriage of almost 14 yrs fell apart and we were divorced in 1986. Again that chapter of my life was incredible and mostly unforgettable as well. Later 1986, I ran into a person I had known in High School, albeit, a different High School, Issaquah. We got together for 3 yrs and lived in Maple Valley, I still had a couple of horses and 2 dogs. It seemes I always came as a "package" deal. :) I had also transferred to Renton for work with King County as well. Here is where I met and am still with my current and LAST man in my life. 1989.
