Calvin's Story
Holy cow! What happened? All of a sudden we turned into old farts!
After high school, I went into the Marine Corp. I hired on with the Border Patrol in 1980 and retired in 2007.
My last posting while in the Marine Corp was as a Marine Security Guard in Bogota, Colombia from 1976 to 1979. I met and married my wife Ruby there.
Her Aunt lived across the street from the "Marine House" (a house the Embassy rented for us Marines). We are still married. It will be 30 years next September 15, 2009.
After the Marines, I went into the Border Patrol and traveled/lived all over the place. We started out in Presidio, Texas, and then transferred to:
Lake Charles, Louisiana (1984-1986)
El Centro, California (1986-1987)
Omaha, Nebraska (1987-1988)
Little Rock, Arkansas (1988-1997)
New Orleans, Louisiana (1997-2001)
El Paso, Texas (2001-Present)
We were living in El Paso at the time of my retirement and are there still. If we every sell our house, Ruby and I will most likely move to the Dallas area.

hired on with MPRI as a contractor working for the USDOJ International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP). I am assigned to Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina (South Eastern Europe) as an advisor to the Bosnian Border Police and what would be equivalent to their Immigration Service.
I will be returning to El Paso on January 16th. After that, I have already hired on with a different company to do background investigations on people applying for work with DHS.
My son is living in Baton Rouge and works at the Red Star bar in downtown Baton Rouge as a bartender. When we left Louisiana, he went with us for a couple of months; decided he didn't like El Paso too much and returned to Louisiana where he has been living ever since.
My daughter is living in El Paso working on her Masters at the University of New Mexico in Las Cruces. Her BA was in Psychology and her Masters will be in family counseling or something like that. I always screw up the name of her program. She is due to graduate (again) this spring.
