Life I left Flint right after graduation in 69 and got a Bachelor's at CMU in Mt. Pleasant. I sang in a band (and made good money) to put myself through college. Then a year in Kazoo at W. Mich. for my first Master's degree in teaching. Having passed on an offer for a lead role in an off-Broadway production of My Fair Lady, I took a job teaching in a tiny village on the west coast of Alaska, way out in the 'bush' and made twice the money I would have made had I stayed in Michigan. Two years out there was enough! I accepted a job in Anchorage, and have been here ever since. After a couple high schools, I've been teaching special ed. kids in a youth prison since 1986, and now am set to retire at the end of this school year, in June 08. I sometimes wonder what 'might have been' had I gone to the Big Apple, but I can't help thinking that I probably missed out on more trouble than good. While acting in local plays, I met my husband Dan in late 1990, and we were married the following summer. A superlative actor and wonderful singer in his own right, he tried teaching for awhile, but it just wasn't for him, so he took a job working for the city driving a garbage truck and just loves it. He's quite a few years younger than me and he's a REAL stud! In fact, these past 16 years have been the happiest years of my life!
