Candace's Story
Life
I am currently a high school Assistant Principal. I have retired from competitive basketball recently and took up golf. I work an enormous amount of hours but still find time to see friends and family.
School
My biggest crush had to be Adrian Gonzalez.
The teacher that inspired me the most had to be Ms. Robin Lee. I learned a great deal from her and what she taught me in Leadership class helps me in my everyday job.
If I could change anything, I would have worked harder to get better grades.
College
The most I remember about college was playing both collegiate basketball and volleyball. It was the best experience of my life. The committment and work ethic required was like nothing I've ever had to do before!
The second ...Expand for more
memory of college was obtaining my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and working towards my 4.0 GPA.
Workplace
I started in education when I was 22. Student teaching, substitute teaching in the Alhambra School District and coaching all along. I moved into Pomona Unified School District and completed 23 years for them. I currently work for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and am the Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Instruction.
I also worked at The Limited in the Glendale Galleria, did Mystery Shopping and worked for Equifax along the way.
One of the best jobs was working for Robert Ng's (Class of 1984) mom's company Data Pacific (data entry). They gave me a chance to get ahead and it kept us close.
