Candace's Story
My engineer husband and I moved all around the country for years and have been in Bellingham for over 30 years. After many years as a baseball mom (including for minor leaguers far from home), I'm now a historian and writer. My 3rd book with WSU Press is Man of Treacherous Charm (2023). al discovery which got me into the back rooms of the Smithsonian. I have 3 kids.: an environmental law attorney, a pro wrestler wannabe turned middle school teacher, and a retired USAF veteran free spirit doing organic gardening and fantasy art. My 70th birthday present was a hot yellow car that kills the memory of "Nasty Patsy" my dad bought me when I was 16. My motto is "If not now, when?" and I currently try all kinds of new foods and experiences."
